Top 5 Friday | Lips

Hey guys!

So welcome to the final Top 5 Friday! Today we’ll be focussing lip products. I feel like lip products can really make or break a look so I love finding a lip products that I know works for me and that I can come back to time and time again.

NOTE: These are ranked in price order not favourites!

First up today we have the Bourjois Velvet Lipstick in 07 Nude-ist. This is a matte lip cream but it is definitely not drying at all! It applies with a very creamy texture using the dome applicator and lasts very nicely on the lips too with minimal transferring. I find this colour to look very natural and a ‘your lips but better’ type of finish.

Next up is the Revlon Luscious Lipgloss in the shade 215 Super Natural which is the PERFECT name for it in my opinion. This is the type of lipgloss that you can throw on in the morning with a bit of mascara and call it done. The high gloss finish (but not sticky!) makes the lips look naturally really plump and juicy. I also find that the slightly peachy undertone is very flattering on the lips too.

If you ask me, every girl needs her go to red lipstick for when she’s feeling it. This is mine. Across the Universe is the perfect cool toned pin-up red with just the right amount of sheen. The Rimmel Apocalips are heavy-duty lipsticks. These things need extra strength remover to get them off (this can be annoying on the rare occasion) but that is what I love about them. Once they’re on, they aren’t going anywhere and I think that’s vital for a red lip because it is NOT cool to find red teeth in the middle of a night out!

This one is a bit of a weird one but I love this product as half of my lipsticks would not work as well as they do without this. This is the MUA Anti-bleed Clear lip liner. I know, its invisible. This is a smooth, silky pencil that will stop even the most runny and impossible lipsticks under control. I can’t believe no other company (that I’m aware of) has thought of this ingenious idea! I think the reason I love this product so much is that it does the job of 10 lip liners in one! Plus because of the silky formula if you apply this all over your lips before applying your lipstick it acts as a primer and keeps your lipstick in place for much longer – what more could you really want?

And finally in today’s line up comes the MUA Matte lipstick in Fawn Fancy. There are two words that describe this : Kylie Jenner. This type of lip colour is everywhere now thanks to her and this is one of the best and most affordable versions of the peachy nude that everyone seems to be longing for. I this is colour is so flattering on every skin tone because it is so neutral. My only problem with this lipstick is that because of the matte formula is can be quite waxy and difficult to apply as well as being quite drying on the lips.

  1. Great Post! I really love the sound of The Rimmel Apocalip. I am a huge fan of cool toned red lip sticks. They are just one of my favorite lip colours! xx
