Top 5 Friday | Face Products

Hey guys!

Welcome to this weeks Top 5 Friday. This week we’ll be focusing on quite a broad topic of face. This includes powders, blushes, bronzers, contours, highlighters – the lot! This is a big category so I tried to pick roughly one of each product however if you would like me to go more in depth about a certain face product like powders then let me know in the comment section below! Let’s get started!

NOTE: This products are arranged in PRICE order, not in the order of favourites.

Firstly today we have my blusher choice. It is the Max Factor Creme Puff Blush. This is multi pigment blush as you can see by the gorgeous swirl on the blush pan. It comes in a dome shape meaning you get a lot of product as it is so highly pigmented that a little bit goes a long way! I absolutely adore the packaging on this blush because it is so sturdy and I feel that even if I drop it by accident, the protective top and base with keep it safe and stop it from smashing which is always a bonus!

The colour I have is 30 Gorgeous Berries which is a beautiful deep mauve colour with a hint of pink shimmer through it. One swipe with a brush is more than enough for this to give you face a rosy, healthy glow however due to its high pigmentation it can be quite easy for even an experience makeup user to apply too much!

Next up is the Sleek Face Form Contour Kit and if you have been on my blog or watched my videos for any amount of time you will know that this is one of my all time holy grail products. I love everything about this kit. The contour shade is the perfect blend of a bronzer and contour shade so you can either bronze up the skin with a fluffy brush or define and sculpt out the face with a smaller, more precise brush. The highlight shimmer is also a wonderful pink, champagne shade with light reflecting shimmer running throughout which give the face a gorgeous, natural looking glow.

The matte packaging also pleases me greatly along the with massive mirror that comes inside. If I’m ever going away somewhere, this is my contour, highlight and compact mirror in one. I’ve also been using the palette for about 7 months now and I am yet to touch pan which shows just how pigmented it is!

This product is one of the newest additions to my collection but I’ve fallen for this Makeup Revolution Ultra Blush Palette in Golden Sugar. This 8 shade palette comes with 2 highlight shade, 4 blushes and 2 bronzers as well as a massive mirror. This is a new-found love as the shades are so highly pigmented as you can see by the swatch (one swipe each). The versatility of this palette is amazing as you could do face and eye looks with the colours in this palette alone. I love the black and rose gold packaging and find it to be very protective the few times I’ve dropped it!

This palette would be ideal for someone who wants to start out in makeup but still have a little bit of variety as well as for makeup enthusiasts. This is one of those ‘Perfect for every mood’ palettes.

If you’ve been in the beauty community for more than about 2 days I’m sure you’ll have heard of this product. The Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder is a product owned by everyone and their mother. It comes in a variety of shades but my favourite is ‘Transparent’. As you can see by the swatch the powder is not completely transparent when applied in bulk. It has an almost yellowish undertone but if applied lightly and evenly it creates a smooth, poreless appearance on the skin.

This product has an amazing lasting power both in the pan and on the face. a little bit of this goes a long way which means you can get about 6 months of continual use out of this. It also keep the face matte and sets makeup for about 8 hours!

And finally in today’s Top 5 it is my favourite highlighter at the moment. This is the MUA Luxe Shimmer Stick in Highlight. This is basically exactly what it looks like – a stick highlight. I had never thought of it before but the stick form makes application so much easier to manage and much more precise and the creamy formula of the product makes it so perfect to blend in and create a natural looking glow.

The only problem I have with this product is that because it is a creamy consistency it can move a little around the face throughout the day but to combat that I add a little transparent powder over the top just to set it in place but that can dull the shimmer slightly.
