Top 5 Fridays | Eyes and Brows

Hey everyone!

Welcome back to my second Top 5 Fridays! Today we’re gonna be focusing on my top products for eyes and brows! Now this doesn’t include eye shadow palettes but I would be happy to do one of those for you if you’d like because I have so many that I’d love to show you guys! So enough waffling, let’s get on with it!
NOTE: This products are in price order, not in order of favourite to least favourite.

First up is the L’Oreal Volume Million Lashes Mascara. This is by far my favourite mascara ever which is why it’s the only mascara I’ve included in this list. I just find it does exactly what I need it to do. I have naturally very long eyelashes which means they like to stick and clump together but this plastic brush does miracles in separating them as well as adding no-clump volume too!

I personally don’t see much difference in a lot of the variations of this mascara but it does come in black, brown and extra black (which is what I have) as well as waterproof so it will really suit anyone’s needs. My only criticism of this mascara is that it can smudge just a little along the lower lash line throughout the day but to me that’s not really a big deal.

Next up is a brow gel and if any of you are like me this is a must have to tame my fly away brow hairs! My favourite brow gel at the moment is Maybelline Brow Drama in Transparent. This is the newest addition to their brow collection and comes in clear and colours too. The formula is of this brow mascara is not a lot different from the other brow gels that I’ve used however, it doesn’t leave a crispy finish to the brows at all!

It was actually the ball-shaped brush that fascinated me with this mascara as it think it’s a really clever shape so as you can apply it really precisely to the brows without it smearing all around the place. It then spirals down to the wand but quite a lot of product seems to be stuck there which seems like a bit of a waste? If I’m missing an obvious trick with this please let me know in the comment section!

Next we’re moving on to the Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl Eyeliner in Nude. I love the trick of putting a white eyeliner in the lower waterline to open up the eyes but I find that it’s just too harsh on my eyes so that is when I discovered this beauty. This nude is the perfect brightening shade for in the waterline and the formula is so creamy and buttery that it just glides on so nicely. I even use it to accentuate under my brow bone too and because it’s a waterproof formula, it sets so quickly and does not budge all day! What more could you want from an eyeliner?

My favourite liner to do my cat flick with is the NYC High Definition Liquid Liner. This liner is super black and with two coats can be super opaque. The felt nib makes it really easy to draw a straight line or a flick (depending on what style you’re going for!) and to vary the thickness of the line as you can see by my swatch above. What I also love about this liner is that the felt nib doesn’t bleed the product anywhere where you don’t want it to go. The only issue I have is that it’s not waterproof or smudgeproof which I would like it to be as I found it can transfer quite easily. I honestly think this is one of the best eyeliners that you can buy in this price range

And last but certainly not least is the Makeup Revolution Ultra Brow Arch and Shape eyebrow pencil. This has quickly become the ONLY product I use to fill in my brows, The dark brown is a perfect colour match for me and the use of felt tip and pencil makes it so easy to create a super sharp, crisp brow. The twistable pencil is so soft and blendable so it’s really good to fill in the inner brow with. The felt pen is ideal for drawing in finer hairs and create the sharp tail at the end of the brow. The only thing I would like is for the felt pen to be a little bit darker so as to match with my brows a little better.
