Welcome to the other section of Blogust which is my Top 5 Friday. (I know it’s Saturday but this wouldn’t post yesterday!!) Each Friday I’ll be breaking down my makeup collection and showing you my top 5 products from each category! This week is foundations and concealers so lets get started!
Note: These are in price order NOT in the order of my favourite to least favourite!
First up is the Revlon Colourstay Foundation and I have the shade 150 Buff. I use this foundation in a lot of my tutorials and that’s because it matches my skin perfectly! There are 9 widely varied shades in this foundation so its suitable for all skin tones.
It is for normal to dry skin so leaves a more dewy effect on your skin than other foundations.
My downside to his foundation is that it doesn’t come with a pump so you have to pour the product out. This can mean a lot more than necessary comes out which can lead to waste of product. It’s a lighter, more watery consistency so ts very easy to blend as well as being incredibly buildable.
3 Word Review: Worth the money
Now, unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past few years you know that this orange-topped foundation is highly loved in the makeup community. The Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation is cheap, cheerful and pretty darn good! It is enriched with vitamins to help your skin whilst you wear it as well as including some light reflecting particles to make your skin look more radiant.
It apples with a pump which makes it much easier to use as the formula is a little on the thicker side, but this probably due to the SPF 15 that’s within this. However, its still very easy to blend out. This one only comes in 6 shades and none of them are particularly dark so its probably not ideal for you darker skined ladies.
3 Word Review: Good for skin
Next up is my favourite little Rimmel BB cream. Now this is only a sample size but I will soon be heading out to buy a full size because this little guy”s amazing. Not only does it act as a sun cream and foundation together, it’s consistency is so light that it feels so light on the skin that you barely even notice it! It’s the perfect thing to chuck on when you need to feel a little bit more presentable but don’t want to put any effort into it.
It does only come in 2 shade, light and medium but I find that because it is such a light consistency it’s a lot more forgiving with colour matching. It’s matte finish gives a really flawless cover even though it’s still really buildable and blendable.
3 Word Review: Simple, Everyday Essential
Much like with the Wake Me Up Foundation, if you haven’t heard the hype about this product then you must be new around here! This is the Collection Lasting Perfect Concealer in Fair 1. It comes in 4/5 shade depending on where you look so it’s really easy to colour match. This concealer is heavy duty enough to use pretty much anywhere to hide pretty much anything – blemishes, dark circles, redness, you got it!
Its quite a thick consistency which is how it does cover everything but the wand dispenser is great for applying the product exactly where you need it to go with the sponge tip picking up the right amount of product every time!
3 Word Review: My Makeup Must-Have
Last but not least, we have the Makeup Revolution Focus and Fix Concealer. This concealer is the cheapest of the lot and with that I would say that it’s not the best but its DEFINITELY good for the money. This concealer is light and creamy and very easy to blend. You have to be careful when blending though because it is so blendable you could blend it away completely!
This has a similar wand application to the above concealer which has a nice, spongy tip making it really easy to apply. It does have a slight orange undertone which can sometime highlight certain parts of the face rather than conceal so this concealer might not be deal over the whole face,
3 Word Review: Cheap, creamy, yellow-toned.
That was my first Top 5 Friday! I hoped you enjoyed and I’ll see you next time!
