Hello my lovely readers!
I’m back today with a review of these nail polishes that I recently tried out. These are the Barry M Matte Nail Paints from their A/W 2013 collection. They are priced at £3.99 each which is £1 more expensive that their standard polishes which I think is brilliant value. There are a total of 5 in the collection however I chose these 2.
The colours I chose were the deep raspberry shade – Crush and the standard black shade – Espresso.
After applying two thin coats or one thicker coat of the polish, it looks the same as a standard polish would look. As it begins to dry, it starts to turn more matte and after about 3 minutes it is completely dry. Two coats is definitely the most you would need to get a full coverage with these polishes as they are highly pigmented however I did find that ‘Crush’ did become a little streaky even though it was applied exactly the same way as the black did.
The packaging is similar to the rest of the Barry M Nail Paint range which I really like however as with most collections they have the silver top instead of the common black top. The colour within the bottle also appears true to the colour on the nail making it easy to decide whether you like the colour before purchasing.
Overall, I am very impressed with these polishes as I think they are great value and do a wonderful job at being a matte polish. I can live with the short lasting power as my polish chipped within about 3 days but I am perfectly happy to do some touch ups for the price! Just remember you can’t use a top coat or the whole effect is ruined!
