3 Ways to do a Messy Bun

Messy buns are the one of quickest and easiest hairstyles to do. Each person has their own preference on how to do their messy bun but just in case you don’t know your preference yet, here are three ways to do a messy bun in 4 steps or less!

Way 1

Start by seperating your fringe or any pieces of hair that frame your face and pull the rest of your hair back.

Then start to pull your hair into a ponytail but on the last twist only pull it through half way.

Take the tail end and twist it like in the Hair Bow tutorial and then wrap it around the base of the bun. Bobby pin it in place.

Once that is done, fan out the bun and either leave it as it is or bobby pin it down to stop it from moving.

And thats it! The first way to create a messy bun in under 5 minutes.

Way 2

For the second bun, again, start by seperating your fringe and pull the rest of your hair into a high ponytail.

Next, twist the whole ponytail in one direction and it should naturally begin to wrap itself around the base of the ponytail.

Do this and then cover with another hair bobble and secure it in place, then lightly begin to tug at the bun to loosen it.

And there you have it, another messy bun and this one literally took about 2 minutes!

Way 3

This last messy bun is the one that takes the longest but will stay in place for the whole day.

Like the second version, start by putting your hair up into a high ponytail.

Then take a section of the ponytail, backcomb it to give it more volume and add a bit of hairspray.

Curl it back in on itself, so that the end of the hair is at the base of the ponytail. Repeat this with all the hair working around the whole head in a circle.

It should look like this when you are done.

There you have it!
