Superman Nails

I bought this new Barry M nails polish and was wearing it the other day, and my friend said it reminded her of Superman blue which gave me the inspiration to do these Superman nails!

Here’s a quick and easy tutorial to show you how to get these adorable Superman(or women!) nails.

All you’ll need are a few nail polishes and a toothpick.

I included a black nail polish as I thought I would outline the logo but I preferred it without the outline.

Start by painting your nails with a base coat to protect and strengthen your natural nails. After this has dried, paint your nails with 2 coats of a bright blue polish. I used Cyan Blue by Barry M.

Once this has dried, use a nail art pen or a toothpick dipped in yellow (or white if you want the overall yellow of the logo to be bright and clear) polish to create a diamond shape on each of your nails. Fill them in, don’t worry, the filling in doesn’t need to be neat.

Then, using a bright yellow nail polish go over the diamond shape and fill it in.

Leave these to dry for about 15-20 minutes as because the nail polish is thick it will take longer to dry, and you will need them to be completely dry before continuing onto the next step.

When the nails are dry, finely outline the yellow diamond with a toothpick dipped in red polish.

The next stage will need a steady hand but once it has been practiced a few times, it’s easy!
Follow the steps in the next picture to help create the Superman logo.

Repeat this step on all of the nails or if you aren’t as confident try it on your thumb and your ring finger for a really cool effect! Add a top coat to seal in your design and prevent it from chipping.

If you try it out please leave a comment below on how it worked out or if you have any requests on nail designs I’d be happy to create a tutorial for you!
